Texas Athletics records eight NCAA Championship Top 10 performances in 2016-17

Longhorns registered a total of 14 NCAA Championship Top 25 team finishes and claimed seven Big 12 Conference titles.
AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas officially concluded its 2016-17 athletics season with a tie for seventh place by the women at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday night. Of the school's 20 intercollegiate programs, the Longhorns registered eight Top 10 and 14 NCAA Championship Top 25 team finishes during the recent academic year.
Topped off by a third-straight NCAA Championship from Men's Swimming and Diving and a second-straight runner-up finish from Volleyball, the Longhorns recorded additional Top 10 NCAA performances in Rowing (fourth), Women's Swimming and Diving (fifth), Men's Tennis (tied for fifth), Women's Outdoor Track and Field (tied for seventh), Men's Indoor Track and Field (ninth) and Women's Basketball (tied for ninth).
The Longhorns added Top 25 finishes in Men's Golf (12th), Women's Golf (13th), Women's Tennis (tied for 17th), Softball (tied for 17th), Baseball (tied for 17th) and Women's Indoor Track and Field (25th).
In addition to its success on the national level, Texas claimed seven Big 12 Conference titles (Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving, Men's Indoor Track and Field, Men's Golf, Women's Golf, Rowing and Men's Outdoor Track and Field). UT has captured a league-best 165 all-time Big 12 Championships (regular season and postseason) through the completion of the 2016-17 season.
