Longhorns appear on national television 21 times in 2017-18.
AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas women's basketball team has finalized its game times and television designations for the 2017-18 season, it was announced Friday.
Texas will face 10 teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season and three teams that participated in the WNIT. The Longhorns' non-conference opponents compiled a collective 232-124 (.652) record last season.
The Longhorns will contest 16 regular-season home games this season, including playing host to national powers UConn and Florida State.
Longhorn Network will televise 11 regular-season games and the team's Nov. 5 exhibition game against Oklahoma City University. Those 12 contests are part of 21 nationally televised contests, including 18 on ESPN networks and the ESPN app.
"As always, we are impressed and excited about our schedule and the match-ups in non-conference play," Texas head coach Karen Aston said. "We are presented with many opportunities to challenge ourselves before the rigors of Big 12 play begin in late December. I am especially thrilled that we were able to entice two top-ranked teams in Florida State and UConn to come to the Erwin Center for nationally televised games. We always look forward to the Big 12 Conference season, which seems like it is survival of the toughest most nights. It is the ultimate preparation for post-season play. We are thrilled for Longhorn fans around the country that we are on national television 21 times this season."
