No. 5 Volleyball’s Johnson named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week

Junior Morgan Johnson posted 16 blocks in two matches to lead the Longhorns.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 5 Texas Volleyball junior Morgan Johnson has been named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the Big 12 Conference announced on Tuesday.
Johnson posted 16 blocks (2.00/set) in the Longhorns victories at UTSA and at West Virginia, including a career-high 10 to open Big 12 play on Saturday.
She ranks second in the Big 12 in blocks per set this season with 1.53 (behind senior Chiaka Ogbogu), which is the 13th-best mark in NCAA division I.
The weekly honor marks the third for Texas this season.
