Schooling, Windle earn Big 12 weekly honors

Senior Joseph Schooling and freshman Jordan Windle collect conference awards after Texas’ victory over Auburn.

IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced Thursday the selection of Texas senior Joseph Schooling as the league's Men's Swimmer of the Week and UT freshman Jordan Windle as the Big 12 Men's Diver of the Week.

Schooling, the 2016 Olympics gold medalist in the 100m butterfly, swept the butterfly events and provided a key butterfly leg to help Texas to victory in the 200 medley relay, as Texas knocked off Auburn.

Windle was the men's individual high point winner with 58 points through three events last month at the USA Diving Winter National Championships. His efforts helped Texas win the men's and combined team titles at the national championship event.

Windle chipped in a crucial eight points in his two diving events against Auburn to help Texas knock off the Tigers.
