Texas singer-songwriter joined by Dalton Domino for LBJ Lawn concert prior to Texas-West Virginia game.
AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Athletics is proud to announce Hayes Carll as the headliner of Longhorn City Limits, taking place prior to Texas Football's Big 12 Conference game vs. West Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 3. For nearly two decades, Carll has firmly established himself as a next-generation singer and writer in the Townes Van Zandt/Guy Clark/Ray Wylie Hubbard style of maverick country-folk. His album "KMAG YOYO" won the Americana Music Association's Album of the Year award in 2011. He is currently touring behind his latest LP "Lovers and Leavers," which earned him a sweep of the 2016-17 Austin Music Awards including Austin Musician of the Year, Album of the Year and five more awards.
Hayes recently finished recording his upcoming album titled "What It Is." (A 2019 release date will be announced soon.)
Joining Carll on the lineup is Dalton Domino. A native Texan, Domino blends red dirt country and southern rock into his own sound. His latest LP "Corners" is his most soul-baring effort.
"I started just writing songs for me," Domino says. "I realized this record is about me trying to find myself and coming to terms with the fact that who I used to be isn't such a bad person."
"We are very excited to bring Hayes Carll and Dalton Domino to Longhorn City Limits," said Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs Drew Martin. "Our fans can look forward to two thrilling performances on the LBJ Lawn before the Horns take the field against the Mountaineers."
With the brand new concert series Longhorn City Limits, Texas Football gamedays have become the center of the "Live Music Capital of the World." Longhorn City Limits takes place at every home game on the LBJ Lawn outside the northeast corner of DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. All concerts are FREE admission and open to the public.
