Anna Turati advances to singles main draw at ITF Norman (Okla.) pro event

UT junior earns third consecutive straight-set victory in qualifying draw to move on to Wednesday’s Round of 32.
NORMAN, Okla. — University of Texas junior Anna Turati recorded a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win against Marina Davtyan (Armenia) on Tuesday in the third and final round of singles qualifying at the ITF (International Tennis Federation) 25k pro circuit event at the Headington Family Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. With the victory, Turati advances to the tournament's 32-player main draw on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Turati is currently No. 797 in the latest WTA (Women's Tennis Association) world singles rankings. She previously registered straight-set wins against Jasmine Amber Asghar (6-4, 6-2) on Sunday and Ivana Corley (6-2, 6-4) on Monday in Norman.
