MEET NOTES
The Matchup – The Horns and Aggies met last year in a top-5 matchup in College Station with Texas picking up a 151.5-148.5 win.
The Longhorns – Texas earned a pair of top-20 wins against then No. 6 Indiana and No. 19 Florida on Oct. 19-20. The Longhorns won 13 of the events, highlighted by nine NCAA 'B' cuts and a pair of wins from Remedy Rule in the 100 and 200 fly. Rule set the sixth-fastest time in the 200 fly (1:56.60) and the seventh-fastest 500 free (4:47.57) this year in the NCAA.
The Aggies – Texas A&M is 2-0 on the season after wins over No. 17 Ohio State (209-142) and Alabama (178-117). The Aggies are led by Sydney Pickrem, who won the 100 back, 200 back and the 400 IM in their meet against the Crimson Tide.
Texas Sweeps Big 12 Awards – Texas took home both the Big 12 Swimmer and Diver of the Week on Wednesday after their top-20 wins over Indiana and Florida. Remedy Rule was tabbed for Big 12 Swimmer of the Week by the Big 12 Conference after her fly wins, while Alison Gibson was selected after picking up wins in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. It's the third honor of her career for Gibson and second for Rule.
Horns on Top – The Longhorns took over the No. 1 spot in the latest CSCAA rankings from two-time defending champion Stanford. Texas will face the Cardinal in a dual on Nov. 9.
Streak Rolls On – With their two wins against Florida and Indiana, the Horns have won 15-straight dual meets dating back to the 2016-17 season.
Next Up – Texas will travel to California to face No. 2 Stanford on Nov. 9 and then make the trip to Berkeley to face No. 5 Cal on Nov. 10.
