• FAMILIAR OPPONENT: Texas coach Shaka Smart spent six years (2009-10 through 2014-15) as the head coach at VCU and posted a 163-56 (.744) mark. He took the Rams to five NCAA Tournaments in his six seasons, including a run to the 2011 Final Four.
• SIMS SHINES: Sophomore F Jericho Sims posted a season-high 16 points (6-9 FG) and 8 rebounds (4 offensive) along with 1 block in 26 minutes during Friday's game vs. Radford. This marked his second double-digit scoring effort this year.
• DYLAN CLEANS THE GLASS: Senior F Dylan Osetkowski grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds in Friday's game vs. Radford. Osetkowski leads the team in rebounding (9.1 rpg) and has reached double digits in boards in four of UT's first seven contests.
