Women's Golf's Hoffman places third at 2018 Trans Amateur Championship

MARYVILLE, Calif. - Junior Texas women's golfer Emilee Hoffman placed third at the 2018 Women's TRANS National Golf Association Amateur Championship, which concluded on Friday at the Peach Tree Golf and Country Club in Maryville, Calif.
Hoffman finished with a six-under-par 282 (71-74-70-67) for the 72-hole event. Oregon golfer Kathleen Scavo claimed the event with an eight-under-par 280 (68-72-70-70), while Stanford's Ziyi Wang was second with a seven-under-par 281 (69-73-68-71).
It has been a highly successful summer for Hoffman who on June 30 won the 2018 Women's Western Golf Association National Amateur Championship, becoming the second Texas golfer in the event's decorated 118-year history to claim the Women's Western Amateur Championship.
Hoffman earned Golfweek Honorable Mention All-America honors in 2018 following her sophomore season at Texas.
Hoffman was an All-Big 12 Conference selection in 2018 and earned Big 12 All-Tournament Team honors for the second consecutive season. She completed in all 13 tournaments and 38 rounds for the Longhorns as a sophomore. She finished the year ranked third on the team in stroke average at 73.18. She recorded 15 rounds at par or better and charted nine top-30 individual finishes in 13 tournaments on the year. She finished second at both the Betsy Rawls Invitational and the Big 12 Conference Championship.
