Texas women's golfers Sára Kousková (Czech Republic) and Agathe Laisne (France) will represent their respective countries at the Women's World Team Amateur Championship, which begins on Wednesday at the Carton House Golf Resort in Maynooth, Ireland.
Teams of two golfers from each of the 59 countries participating will compete for the 28th Espirito Santo Trophy, which will be awarded on Saturday following 72 holes of golf. The Women's World Team Amateur Championship is a biennial event organized by the International Golf Federation.
Both Texas golfers are ranked among the top 100 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Laisne is No. 58, while Kousková is No. 91.
Laisne competed in 11 tournaments and 32 rounds for the Longhorns as a freshman in 2017-18 with a stroke average of 74.78. She posted six top-30 individual finishes and 24 of her 32 rounds counted towards the team score.
Kousková, from Prague, Czech Republic, has been a member of the Czech National Team since 2013, including participating in the 2017 World Junior Girls Championship. She was the top-ranked U18 golfer in the Czech Republic this past year. She participated in two Ladies European Tour Access Series events in 2017, making two cuts. Kousková was the 2016 Slovak Ladies Amateur Champion.
Both Kousková and Laisne made the cut at the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship this summer and both earned top-15 finishes at the European Ladies Amateur Championship in July.
