Texas Athletics is excited to partner with Daniel and his driver attire for Sunday’s race.
Daniel Ricciardo loves Texas and the United States Grand Prix. The seven-time Formula One winner and Australian native has partnered with Texas Athletics on a custom helmet and race boots for the 2019 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas on Sunday, Nov. 3. The helmet, crafted to replicate the iconic college football helmet design worn by the Texas Longhorns, features the Longhorn silhouette on the sides, a face mask in front of the visor, and Ricciardo's #3 and name on the back. In addition, Daniel will wear one-of-a-kind burnt orange and white Alpinestars race boots featuring the Longhorns' international greeting of "Hook 'em" on the sides.
University of Texas cheerleaders and mascot Hook 'Em were on hand at the United States Grand Prix Media Day to reveal and present Ricciardo with the limited edition gear.
A member of Renault F1 Team, Ricciardo is one of racing's most charismatic and followed Formula One Drivers across the globe. With over five million followers across his social accounts, Daniel has long been a fan of Texas and the city of Austin.
"I just get some weird energy in Austin. I just get so excited and all week, I'm buzzing," says Ricciardo. "Knowing that the faster I drive, the quicker I can get back to the city and have brisket, it's all the motivation one needs."
The University of Texas Longhorn Band will also be participating in opening ceremonies prior to Sunday's race.
