No. 5 Women’s Swimming & Diving sits third at Minnesota Invite

Evie Pfeifer took second in the 500 Free to lead the Longhorns.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The No. 5 Texas Women's Swimming and Diving team sits in third at the 2019 Minnesota Invite after the second day of competition with 258 points.
California leads the way with 457 points and Michigan is second with 278 points. Trailing the Longhorns are Arizona in fourth with 211 points, Minnesota (162), Harvard (94) and Iowa (90).
In the 500 Free, Evie Pfeifer took second with a 4:38.44. The four-time All-American was also a key part of the Longhorns' third-place 400 Medley Relay team.
The Longhorns grouping of Claire Adams, Pfeifer, Kelly Pash and Julia Cook finished third in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:29.92.
Pash finished fifth in the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.11. The Longhorns took fifth and sixth in the 50 Free, with Bridget Semenuk (22.29) and Cook (22.47).
The teams are back in the pool on Friday at 10 a.m. for prelims and the finals will follow at 6 p.m.
