Junior guard Jase Febres dropped a season-high 17 points to pace the Longhorns to the victory in Fort Worth.
FORT WORTH, Texas — Junior guard Jase Febres posted a season-high 17 points to lead The University of Texas Men's Basketball team (8-1) to a 60-50 victory against Texas A&M (3-5) on Sunday afternoon at Dickies Arena. UT's 8-1 record is the best 9-game start in the Shaka Smart era.
Febres tied a season high by converting four 3-pointers in 35 minutes. Redshirt sophomore guard Andrew Jones, playing close to his hometown of Irving, joined Febres in double figures with 12 points and added five assists. Sophomore guard Courtney Ramey tallied a season-high 7 assists in 35 minutes.
Texas recorded a team season-high 19 assists on its 23 field goals made. The Longhorns limited the Aggies to 17 first-half points and 50 points total in the contest while tying a season high in turnovers forced (21).

- This marks the best 9-game start (8-1) in the Shaka Smart era at Texas. UT posted a 6-3 mark in 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2018-19. It's the best 9-game start by the Longhorns since UT went 8-1 in 2014-15.
