Durant earns NBA All-Star Game MVP honors

Former Longhorn star posts team-high 31 points to lead Team LeBron to 178-164 victory.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former University of Texas star Kevin Durant (Golden State Warriors) earned the Kia Most Valuable Player honor at the 2019 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night at Spectrum Center. Durant claimed All-Star Game MVP honors for the second time in his career, as he previously won the award in 2012.
Durant registered a team-high 31 points while hitting 10-of-15 field goals, including 6-of-9 from three-point range, and 5-of-5 free throws to lead Team LeBron to a 178-164 victory against Team Giannis. He added 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots in 25 minutes. Durant converted 4-of-4 field goals, including 3-of-3 from three-point range, in the fourth quarter.
Durant made his 10th NBA All-Star Game appearance, including his seventh as a starter. Former Longhorn LaMarcus Aldridge (San Antonio Spurs) participated in his seventh NBA All-Star Game. Texas and Kentucky (Anthony Davis and Karl-Anthony Towns) were the only NCAA schools to have multiple ormer players play in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game.
