No. 2 Women's Swimming takes fifth in 800 free relay at NCAA Championships

The Longhorn relay dropped the third-fastest time in program history.
AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas women's swimming relay team of Quinn Carrozza, Claire Adams, Evie Pfeifer and Joanna Evans dropped the third-fastest time (6:55.80) in school history in the 800 free relay for a fifth-place finish on the first night of the NCAA Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
UT won the second heat of the event after Evans (1:43.46 split) ran down Alena Kraus of Louisville on the final leg of the relay. It's the third-straight top-five finish for the Longhorns, and back-to-back fifth-place finishes for Carrozza, Adams and Pfeifer who were members of last year's relay that set a school record in the finals with a time of 6:53.42.
