NOTES
- The No. 23 and seventh-seeded Texas women's basketball team begins its NCAA Tournament quest on Friday when it travels to Eugene, Ore., to face 10th-seeded Indiana. Tip-off in Matthew Knight Arena is slated for 6 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by ESPN2.
- The Series with Indiana: Texas and Indiana meet for the second time in the history of the two programs with the Longhorns leading the all-time series 1-0. The two teams last met December 3, 1982, an 86-79 win for Texas at the Nebraska Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
- In The NCAA Tournament: Texas is making its 32nd all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament, which ranks fourth-most of any program in NCAA history. Texas is 42-30 [.583] all-time in NCAA Tournament play, including a 10-5 mark under head coach Karen Aston.
- As The No. 7 Seed: Texas is a No. 7 seed for the third time in program history and holds a record of 0-2 all-time when competing in the NCAA Tournament as a No. 7 seed.
- 20-Win Seasons: Texas has reached the 20-win milestone for the 36th time in the 45-year history of the program. The Longhorns have won at least 22 games for the sixth consecutive season, a span in which Texas is averaging 25.5 wins per season.
- On The Boards: Texas ranks fourth nationally in rebound margin at +10.4. The Longhorns are 12th nationally in total rebounds [1,356] and 21st in the nation in rebounds per game [42.38]. The Longhorns have held or tied for the rebounding advantage in 28 of 32 games this season and 117 of the last 137 games overall.
- Sutton's Standout Junior Season: In her first season as her team's starting point guard, Sug Sutton has been impressive. Sutton, who has played in 100 career games for the Longhorns, has started all 32 games in 2018-19. She leads her team in scoring [12.8 ppg] and assists per game [5.4]. She is shooting 47.8 percent from the field and is averaging 32.0 minutes per game. Sutton ranks 18th nationally in total assists [172] and 29th in the nation in assists per game [5.4]. She is a First-Team All-Big 12 Conference selection and was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team.
