EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 23 Texas women's basketball team ended its 2018-19 season Friday with a 69-65 loss to Indiana in the NCAA First Round at Matthew Knight Arena.
For the Longhorns (23-10), it marked their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 32nd all-time. Texas recorded its sixth consecutive season with 22 or more victories and the Longhorns averaged 25.5 wins per season over the last six years.
Senior guard Danni Williams led the Longhorns with 15 points, while junior forward Joyner Holmes notched her 13th career double-double and fourth of the season with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Senior center Jatarie White totaled 13 points and seven boards, while junior point guard Sug Sutton charted eight points, eight rebounds and six assists.
The Longhorns out-rebounded the Hoosiers, 46-25. Texas shot 41.3 percent (26-of-63) from the field, while Indiana shot 44.4 percent (28-of-63) from the floor.
The Hoosiers (21-12) were led by a game-high 24 points from Jaelynn Penn.
It marked the final game in a Texas uniform for three seniors - Olamide Aborowa, Jatarie White and Danni Williams.
