• IN SEARCH OF A TITLE: Texas looks to capture the NIT Championship for the second time in program history on Thursday night. The Longhorns previously won the title in 1978, posting a 101-93 victory against North Carolina State at Madison Square Garden.
• DEFENDING THE THREE: In their four NIT victories, the Longhorns have limited their opponents to a combined 27.2-percent mark (22-81) from three-point range. Texas held TCU to 44 points on 28.3-percent FG shooting (17-60), including a 4-of-21 (.190) mark from three-point range, in Tuesday's win.
• ROACH ON A ROLL: Senior G Kerwin Roach II has averaged a team-best 17.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 4.0 apg in 26.5 mpg during the first four NIT contests. He has converted 46.9-percent (23-49) from the floor, including a 6-of-12 (.500) mark from three-point range, in the tourney. Roach had a game-high 22 points (9-14 FG, 1-1 threes) in 28 minutes against TCU on Tuesday night.
