No. 4 Rowing sweeps No. 6 Ohio State

The Longhorns won all four races against the Buckeyes.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The No. 4 University of Texas rowing team won all of its races against No. 6 Ohio State University on Friday evening.

"Winning these four races against Ohio State on their home course is certainly a big accomplishment. We have a ton of respect for their program, and today shows the progress we've made," said head coach Dave O'Neill.

Despite having to move racing forward a day due to predicted flooding, all races were completed. O'Neill stated: "Today was another race where we had to adjust to a new schedule with only a few hours notice, and I'm glad we made the most of it."

"The first eight has made some good improvements, and they showed some decent speed today", said O'Neill. "Another standout performance was by the second four. They established a solid lead early and never let up. They pushed to the very end, and that result was certainly noticed."

In two weeks, Texas will travel to Oak Ridge, Tennessee to compete at the Big 12 Championship on May 19th. The field will consist of Oklahoma, Kansas, Kansas State, West Virginia and conference affiliates Alabama and Tennessee.

First Four - 1) TEXAS 6:44.90, 2) Ohio State 6:46.67
