The Longhorns placed 21 on the first team and two on the second team.
2019 Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team
IRVING, Texas -- The Big 12 Conference named 23 student-athletes from the No. 4 University of Texas Rowing team to the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team on Thursday.
Seniors Blair Bartholomew, Fanny Bon, Kendall Chapman, Ashley Jacobs, Barb Klavin, Lauren Mufarreh, and Jenny Warren were given first team honors and senior Alice Bowyer picked up second team honors.
Also honored were juniors Diana Canas, Grace Coffee, Alexis Lelon, Aine McGinn, Eden Norris, Mara Royse, Maisie Sajbel, Maria Valencia and Ljiljana Josic.
Underclassmen Katelyn Bouthillette, Emily Courtois, Mick Jonkers, Kenza McKerrihan, Sydney Ortiz, and Maxine Parr made their Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team debuts, each notching first team honors.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 of better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA of higher either cumulative of the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
