Three Women's Golfers set for Arnold Palmer Cup

Three University of Texas women's golfers are set to participate in the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup, which will take place June 7-9 at The Alotian Club in Roland, Ark.
The event is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men's and women's university/college golfers matching the United States against a team of International players.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp and freshman Hailee Cooper are part of the United States team, while sophomore Agathe Laisne will compete for the International team.
Papp is a returning member of the 2019 U.S. Team, as she helped the United States claim the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup. The U.S. leads the all-time series 12-9-1.
Cooper recorded a remarkable freshman campaign, which culminated with her placing fourth at the NCAA Championship. It was the fourth top-five individual finish at the NCAA Championship in program history and the first since 1997. She led her team with a stroke average of 72.28, which ranks third on Texas' all-time single-season stroke average list. Cooper played all 36 rounds for the Longhorns with seven rounds in the 60s and a team-leading 19 rounds at par or better. She had two individual victories on the year and five top-10 individual efforts.
Laisne was the 2019 Big 12 Conference Champion and tied for 10th at the NCAA Championship. She played in 30 rounds and was second on the team with a stroke average of 72.30, which ranks fourth on Texas' all-time single-season stroke average list. Laisne had eight top-20 finishes on the season, 15 rounds at par or better and seven rounds in the 60s. She also made the cut at the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur.
Papp, who was the 2018 Big 12 Golfer of the Year, was third on the 2018-19 Longhorns team with a stroke average of 72.36, which ranks fifth on Texas' all-time single-season stroke average list. She charted 18 rounds at par or better and four rounds in the 60s. She played in 33 rounds with seven top-10 individual finishes, including tying for 10th at the NCAA Championship. Papp had a pair of runner-up appearances, placing second at the Betsy Rawls Invitational and the Big 12 Championship. She tied for fifth at the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur. Papp recently competed at the 2019 U.S. Women's Open.
