• THIS IS A FIRST: For the first time in five all-time appearances, Texas will play in the championship game of the Maui Invitational. UT's previous-best finish at the prestigious tourney is third place (2004 and 2008).
• SUCCESS AGAINST THE TAR HEELS: Texas has won four straight and eight of the last nine meetings against North Carolina. UT is 4-1 against the Tar Heels in games played at neutral sites entering Wednesday's contest.
• SOLID 'D': The Longhorns have held their first three opponents to an average of 58.3 ppg on a combined 34.2-percent FG shooting (55-161). Texas limited Indiana to 44 points on 23.9-percent FG shooting (11-46) in Tuesday's victory.
