02.25.2020 | Football, Softball, Rowing
Softball and Rowing events surround Bevo Blvd., Smokey’s Midway, and Longhorn City Limits fan festivities for action-packed weekend.
Texas Athletics is proud to announce the second annual 'Made in Austin Weekend' to be held April 24-26 on The University of Texas campus and Lake Walter E. Long. Events feature a variety of fan experiences that celebrates what makes Austin so unique: live music, specialty food and beverage offerings, enjoying Austin's natural beauty around the lake, live art installations, pet-friendly activities, and -- most importantly -- the Texas Longhorns!
Events are centered around the annual Texas Football Orange-White Game, presented by Living Spaces, on Saturday, April 25 at 6 p.m. in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The spring game, televised on Longhorn Network, is the first glimpse for Longhorns fans to see the defending Valero Alamo Bowl Champions in action before the 2020 season opener against South Florida on Saturday, Sept. 5. Following the game, all fans will be allowed to come down onto the field for a 45-minute photo op session (subject to capacity).
All activities surrounding the Orange-White Game are FREE admission!
Bevo Blvd. presented by H-E-B and Smokey's Midway, the Texas-sized pregame street festivals along San Jacinto Blvd. and DeLoss Dodds Way, return bigger and better beginning at 2 p.m. Featuring a variety of new games and interactive activities, these areas will bring the Forty Acres to life.
Signature elements include the first Bevo Blvd. Crawfish Boil. Located in front of the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center, fans can enjoy crawfish along with traditional sides including corn and potatoes. Over 12 Austin-area food trucks will also return to provide a plethora of food options. Enjoy Happy hour pricing on Bevo Blvd., Smokey's Midway, and Longhorn City Limits including $5 16-oz. domestic beers, $6 16-oz. premium beers and $5 wine spritzers.
Bevo XV, UT's famed mascot, will be available for photo ops in the Winship Circle beginning at 2 p.m. along with Texas Cheer, Texas Pom, Hook 'Em, and Smokey the Cannon. Photo ops will last until 3:45 p.m. preceding the Bevo XV Parade presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance. This signature moment allows thousands of Longhorns fans to cheer Bevo on as he is ushered into the stadium and includes the day's first appearance by the Longhorn Band.
Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase specialty craft cocktails, craft beer, and culinary food options at a speakeasy lounge located on the sixth floor of the the Red McCombs Red Zone on the north end of the stadium. To access, enter Gate 14 and either take the escalator or the elevators to the sixth floor.
Bevo XV won't be the only furry friend participating in this year's pregame activities. Families of all ages will be able to pet over 30 furry friends including rabbits, hedgehogs, chicks, guinea pigs, tortoises, bearded dragons, and miniature chickens during "Horns Hoppy Hour" located on Bevo Blvd.
Finally, Longhorn City Limits presented by ATX The Brand, the acclaimed concert series, returns to the LBJ Lawn along with the Deep Eddy Lounge featuring Texas-themed cocktails crafted from the award-winning Austin-based vodka.
