LAWRENCE, Kan. — Junior guard Matt Coleman III registered a game-high 20 points, but The University of Texas Men's Basketball team (14-8, 4-5 Big 12) dropped a 69-58 decision to No. 3/3 Kansas (19-3, 8-1 Big 12) on Monday night at Allen Fieldhouse. Texas led 33-31 at halftime after redshirt sophomore guard Andrew Jones knocked down a three-pointer as time expired.
Coleman converted 8-of-17 field goals in 36 minutes. Junior forward Jericho Sims recorded 17 points (8-9 FG) and 9 rebounds in 28 minutes.
Texas pulled within 44-42 after a Sims dunk at the 11:00 mark. The Jayhawks responded with a 19-4 run over the next eight minutes to build a 63-46 advantage with 3:09 remaining. Kansas' lead did not dip into single digits for the rest of the contest.
