Four Longhorns on Phillips 66 All-Big 12 Men’s Basketball award teams

Matt Coleman III earns third-team selection; Andrew Jones, Courtney Ramey and Jericho Sims named honorable mention.
IRVING, Texas — Four University of Texas players earned spots on the 2019-20 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 Men's Basketball Award teams, the league office announced Sunday. Junior guard Matt Coleman III earned third-team honors, while redshirt sophomore guard Andrew Jones, sophomore guard Courtney Ramey and junior forward Jericho Sims were garnered honorable mention accolades.
Coleman III leads the team in scoring (12.7 ppg), assists (3.4 apg), steals (40) and minutes (33.6 mpg) while adding 3.0 rpg. He has converted 39.5-percent (45-114) from three-point range and reached double figures in scoring a team-high 22 times this year, including four 20-plus point performances.
Andrew Jones ranks second on the team in scoring (11.5 ppg) and third in assists (1.9 apg) and steals (23) in 26.6 mpg. He has reached double figures in scoring 15 times this year, including a team-high six 20-point efforts.
Ramey ranks second on the team in assists (2.9 apg), rebounding (3.9 rpg), steals (31) and minutes (31.5 mpg) and third in scoring (10.9 ppg). He has reached double figures in scoring 19 times this season, including four 20-point performances.
Sims started each of UT's first 24 contests before being sidelined for the past seven games due to a back injury. Sims leads the team in rebounding (8.2 rpg) and ranks second in blocked shots (29) and fourth in scoring (9.7 ppg) while converting 65.8-percent (102-155) from the floor in 27.2 mpg. He has reached double figures in scoring 13 times, double digits in rebounds eight times and recorded four double-doubles.
The official All-Big 12 awards are selected by the league's head coaches. The coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.
Texas (19-12, 9-9 Big 12) is the No. 4 seed in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship and will open play in a quarterfinal-round contest against No. 5 seed Texas Tech (18-13, 9-9 Big 12) on Thursday, March 12 at 11:30 a.m. Central. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN2.
