Eight Longhorns named to 2020 USA Men’s Swimming National Team

Longhorns past and present set to represent on international stage
AUSTIN – USA Swimming announced its 2020-21 Men's National Team Roster which featured eight Texas Men's Swimmers.
The roster features two current Longhorns in rising senior Austin Katz and incoming freshman Carson Foster. Katz is set to compete in the 200 Back, posting the second fastest time on the team at 1:55.57 at the 2019 World University Games. Foster is one of two Longhorns slotted in two events as he is set to compete in both the 200 and 400 IM.
Former Longhorn Maxime Rooney is the second Longhorn to make the roster for two events as he made the team for both the 100 free and 100 fly. His 100 fly time at 2019 Phillips 66 Nationals was good for second fastest at 50.68.
Ex Will Licon leads the charge in the 200 breast with the fastest time at 2:07.62 at the 2019 Pan American Games, while Townley Haas holds the No. 1 time in the 200 free after hitting the wall at 1:45.92 at the 2019 Toyota U.S. Open. Tate Jackson wraps up the list of Longhorns still training with Longhorn Aquatics, making the roster for the 100 free.
Former Longhorns Jack Conger and Sam Stewart have also made the roster, but are currently training elsewhere. Conger is listed for the 100 fly, while Stewart joins Foster in the 200 IM.
