AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Women's Basketball junior forward/center Charli Collier was named to the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Midseason Team, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Tuesday. She is one of four Big 12 student-athletes to make the list.
Collier, an All-America candidate, is averaging 21.9 points and 12.4 rebounds per game this season. She has recorded 13 double-doubles, the second-most of any Division I player, and scored 20-plus points on 12 occasions. Collier has recorded three 30-point efforts this season, including a career-high 44 points vs. North Texas back in November. She also scored 30 points against both Texas Tech (Jan. 30) and at Oklahoma (Feb. 3), the two best single-game outputs of her career against Big 12 competition. Collier has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week twice this year and the Jersey Mike's Naismith Player of the Week once.
The field for the Naismith Trophy will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on March 2, and four finalists will be named on March 19. The winner of the 2021 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year will be announced in April.
