AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Women's Basketball team was selected as the No. 6 seed in the Hemisfair Region of the 2021 NCAA Tournament and will play Bradley on Monday at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN2. UT's selection marks the seventh-straight NCAA Tournament appearance for the Longhorns. That streak does not include the 2020 campaign, which was halted prior to the Big 12 tournament and subsequent NCAA Tournament selections due to COVID-19.

The Longhorns have compiled an 18-9 record (11-7 Big 12) during head coach Vic Schaefer's first season at the helm in Austin. Fourteen of those wins have come by double-digits, including eight against Big 12 competition. Last weekend, the Longhorns advanced to the semifinals of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship after knocking off fourth-seeded Iowa State, 84-82, in overtime at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
Four Longhorns were honored on the Big 12's postseason awards as well last week, with junior forward/center Charli Collier highlighting the group. Collier was a unanimous first-team All-Big 12 selection and chosen to the league's All-Defensive Team, both strong additions to an impressive resume this season that includes being a Lisa Leslie Award finalist (nation's top center), a member of the Wooden Award's National Ballot and a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. Joanne Allen-Taylor, Kyra Lambert and Celeste Taylor all earned honorable mention All-Big 12 recognition.
Texas is making its 33rd all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament, which ranks fourth among all NCAA Division I programs. The Longhorns are 42-31 (.575 win pct) all-time in NCAA Tournament play.
