Track and Field places 44 on Academic All-Big 12 teams

The Longhorns had 32 first-team honorees and eight student-athletes post 4.0 GPAs.
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Track and Field program placed 44 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 teams this spring, highlighted by eight student-athletes posting 4.0 GPAs. Of the Longhorns' selections, 32 were first-team honorees with 12 earning second-team accolades.
The eight student-athletes to earn Academic All-Big 12 honors with 4.0 GPAs were Bekah Alcozer, Claudine Blancaflor, Alyssa Duhart, Kathryn Gillespie, Bennett Inoff, Gabby Kearney, Beth Ramos and Isabella West.
First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20-or-better GPA while the second-team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-atheltes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except for percent of participation are also eligible.
