Women's Cross Country wins Concordia Classic

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas – For the second time this season, the women of the Texas Cross Country team claimed the top seven finishes and helped the Longhorns win the Concordia Classic.
Texas took the top 13 spots in Friday night's race and featured two Longhorns making their season debuts.
Senior Beth Ramos won the women's 6K event with her time of 20:49.4. Close behind was Isabel Hebner who competed for the first time in a cross country race since the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships with her time of 21:30.1. Her sister Monica Hebner rounded out the top three finishers with a time of 21:32.4.
Freshman Eva Jess picked up where she left off in Stillwater, recording another personal-best time of 21:43.3 along with Alexa Rodriguez who also PRd just behind Jess at 21:43.6.
Ava Peeples was the next Longhorn to finish with her time of 21:57.0. Kelsie Vicknair completed her first race of the 2021 season with a time of 22:13.6. Maddie Hatfield, Alyssa Duhart and Grace Johnson rounded out the final top-10 finishers, respectively.
Freshman Allyson Little competed in her third race of the season and shed 20 seconds off her previous 6K time to finish at 23:10.6, while Valery Tobias finished 10 seconds behind at 23:20.0. Amity Ebarb was the final Longhorn to finish at 24:10.6, more than 17 seconds before the next competitor.
The Longhorns scored a perfect 15 points to take its second race of the season. Texas will have three weeks to train prior to its next race on Oct. 15 at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
