• WELCOME BACK, COACH BARNES: Saturday's game marks the return of Rick Barnes to the Erwin Center. Barnes is the all-time winningest coach in UT program history, posting a 402-180 (.691) mark in 17 seasons (1998-2015) while guiding the Longhorns to 16 NCAA Tournament appearances and three Big 12 regular-season titles.
• DEFENSE WINS: Texas is a perfect 15-0 this year when holding its opponent below 60 points. The Longhorns lead the nation (through games of Jan. 26) in scoring defense (54.7 ppg allowed). UT held TCU to 50 points on 36-percent FG shooting (18-50), including a 2-of-16 mark from three-point range, in Tuesday's win.
• ALLEN STUFFS THE STAT SHEET: Senior Timmy Allen leads the team in scoring (11.9 ppg), rebounding (6.6 rpg) and steals (26) and ranks second in assists (45) and minutes (28.4 mpg). During Tuesday's victory in Fort Worth, Allen had a team-best 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 38 minutes.
