The 2021 NFL playoffs continued with Longhorns contributing on rosters in the conference title games.
AUSTIN, Texas – The 2021 NFL playoffs continued with a trio former Texas Football players in action in the Conference Championships.
In a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the AFC Championship Game, center Trey Hopkins and the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the two-time defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs in overtime, 27-24, on the road to win the organization's first conference championship since 1988. The Bengals overcame a 21-3 deficit late in the second quarter to advance to the organization's third Super Bowl in franchise history.
Hopkins and defensive end Joseph Ossai, who was placed on injured reserve during the preseason, will face the NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI. It will mark the 17th consecutive Super Bowl with a former Longhorn on the roster.
