AUSTIN, Texas – After a historic 2021 indoor campaign, the Texas Longhorns track and field program is ready to pick up where it left off for the 2022-23 indoor season.
Head coach Edrick Floréal announced the 12-meet schedule on Thursday morning, which features 10 regular season meets leading up to Big 12 Championships and NCAAs.
Texas is slated for an opening meet the first weekend of December and will travel to Louisville, Ky., for the Commonwealth College Opener on the third. Six weeks later, the Longhorns will return to Louisville for the two-day Cardinal Classic.
The 2021 NCAA Men's Indoor Champions and the runner-up women will travel to Albuquerque, N.M., for the first of three times on Jan. 21 for the Dr. MLK Jr. Invitational.
The strong group of multis led by Leo Neugebauer and Kristine Blazevica will travel to Lubbock for the Texas Tech Open and Multis meet from Jan. 26-28, while the distance squad will make their way out east for the Boston Terrier Classic that same weekend.

Texas returns to Albuquerque from Feb. 3 – 4 for the N.M. Collegiate Classic and Boston for the Valentine Invitational the following weekend (Feb. 10 – 11).
The squad will split for the second time this season when the non-distance runners travel to the Tiger Paw Invite that second week of February. The Longhorns left the Tiger Paw Invite last season sweeping the 60m dash with Marcellus Moore's time of 6.61 and Julien Alfred's time of 7.26.
The Arkansas Qualifier (Feb. 17) hosted by the University of Arkansas and the Alex Wilson Invitational (Feb. 18) in South Bend, Ind., will be the final regular season meets of the season.
Texas looks to make it three-straight seasons sweeping the Big 12 Indoor Championships on Feb. 24 – 25 when they go back to Lubbock. Last season's sweep marked the second time a program has ever swept Big 12 Indoor Championships. The women were ranked No. 1 while the men were ranked No. 3 leaving the meet.
