• FIRST TIME IN THE VALLEY: For the first time in the 117-year history of the Texas Basketball program, the Longhorns will play a regular-season contest in the Rio Grande Valley.
• HONORING COACH BLACK: UT's next two contests are part of the Leon Black Classic. The multi-team event will honor the late Texas men's basketball player and assistant coach who also served as head coach of the Longhorns for nine seasons from 1967-76. Black passed away at the age of 89 last year.
• HUNTER'S CAREER NIGHT: Sophomore G Tyrese Hunter posted a career-high 26 points in just 26 minutes played during Wednesday's home win against No. 2/2 Gonzaga. Hunter tied his collegiate high in field goals made (9-14), including a 5-of-8 mark from three-point range.
