WACO, Texas – Two-time defending national champion Texas Rowing competed at the inaugural Waco Rowing Regatta on the Brazos River on Sunday morning. Competing in the Women's Collegiate 8+, Texas' raced four boats and were the only program in the field. The 5K head race marked UT's only official competition of the fall season.
"It was a great event up here in Waco, and all is good with our team," said Texas head coach Dave O'Neill. "It has been a few years since we had such a large group travel for a head race. In fact, this was a first for everyone racing here, and I was impressed with the way everyone raced."
"Our team has come to Waco many times for training camps, and it's terrific to see the potential of the Brazos become a reality. We're certainly glad to be here and look forward to coming back."
