No. 1 Men's Track Break Mile Program Record in Boston

BOSTON, Mass. - Cruz Gomez and Yaseen Abdalla broke Yusuf Bizimana's mile program record at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday night.
Gomez now holds the Longhorns record with his time of 3:57.09 that ranks in the top 30 in the NCAA and is the third-best time in the Big 12 on the NCAA qualifying list. Abdalla finished behind Gomez with his personal-best time of 3:57.53, the fourth-best in the conference.
Brendan Hebert was the third Longhorn to break the four-minute barrier with his time of 3:59.96, a new personal best. Rodger Rivera was the final competitor from Texas to finish the mile with his time of 4:09.95.
Camron Herron made his Texas debut in the men's 800m and finished with a time of 1:50.59.
Haftu Knight made his indoor season debut in the men's 5000m with a personal-best time 13:41.70, the third-best time in the conference. Abraham Avila-Martinez posted a time of 14:21.61.
