No. 1 Men’s Swimming and Diving dominates day three of Big 12 Championships

Texas won six of seven events to build upon lead.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – No. 1 Texas Men's Swimming and Diving cruised on day three of the 2022 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, winning six events at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park on Friday. The Longhorns have won 12 of the first 14 events in the championship.
Texas began the day with a victory by freshman Tim Connery in the 100 free with a time of 45.61.
Carson Foster followed by breaking his own meet record and establishing a new pool record in the 400 IM to win the conference title with a time of 3:37.72. It marked the second victory of the week for the sophomore after winning the 200 IM yesterday.
Not to be outdone, senior Drew Kibler posted his third career victory in the 200 free, winning with a time of 1:32.64.
Junior Caspar Corbeau tallied his third consecutive victory in the 100 breast with his time of 50.96 establishing a new meet and pool record.
Senior Cameron Auchinachie won his first individual title with the Longhorns by winning the 100 back with a mark of 45.32.
Capping off the night was junior Andrew Harness' victory on the 3-meter springboard with a career-best score of 453.85.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Texas swept the top three-spots in the 100 fly with senior Alvin Jiang (45.69) and sophomore Zac Van Zandt (46.06) placing second and third, respectively, behind Connery.
- The Longhorns also went 1-2-3 in the 400 IM as junior Jake Foster (3:40.42) took second and sophomore David Johnston (3:43.61) placed third.
- UT posted the top-four time in the 200 free as Kobler was followed by junior Peter Larson (1:32.92), sophomore Coby Carrozza (1:33.08) and freshman Luke Hobson (1:35.47).
- Freshman Anthony Grimm win silver in the 100 backstroke with a season-best time of 45.71.
- On the 3-meter, senior Andrew Gawin-Pargini won the bronze with a score of 379.40.
