Women’s Basketball signs Oregon State transfer Taylor Jones

Texas native and All-PAC 12 forward joins the Longhorns’ roster.
AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Women's Basketball head coach Vic Schaefer announced Monday the addition of transfer forward, Taylor Jones from Oregon State.
A three-year starter and All-PAC 12 Conference honoree, Jones joins the Longhorns with two years of eligibility remaining.
The Forney, Texas, native started nine games in an injury-shortened 2021-22 season. She averaged 12.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while shooting 64.9 percent from the floor.
During her sophomore campaign in 2020-21, Jones was named to the All-PAC 12 Honorable Mention Team after averaging 12.3 points per game while leading the conference in rebounding (8.9 RPG) and ranked No. 2 in field goal percentage (.556).
Jones was named to the PAC-12 All-Freshman Team in 2019-20. She averaged 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest and set the OSU freshman record for single-season blocks (60), which was also the top mark in the PAC-12.
During her prep career, Jones was two-time Adidas All-American and was rated the No. 43 prospect in the country in the class of 2019 by ESPN W/HoopGurlz. She helped lead Dallas Christian to a pair of state titles, was a three-time All-State honoree and finished with over 2,000 points in her career.
