Longhorns wrap successful Day Three at USA Swimming International Team Trials

Texas collected six top-eight results in North Carolina.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Texas Swimming's Carson Foster won the 400-meter individual medley at the USA Swimming 2022 Phillips 66 International Team Trials at the Greensboro Aquatic Center on Thursday. Foster touched the wall in 4:09.33, the third-fastest time in the world this year.
Foster has now qualified for the first Team USA's FINA World Championships roster in two events, securing a spot yesterday in the 4x200-meter relay after placing third in the 200m final.
The men's 400m IM final had three Longhorns in the final as David Johnston took fourth with a time of 4:13.24, just ahead of Jake Foster fifth-place time of 4:13.76.
Incoming freshman Lydia Jacoby registered her second impressive swim in as many nights, placing third in the women's 50m breaststroke with a time of 30.35 after taking fifth-place in last night's 200m final.
In the 100-meter butterfly, Drew Kibler took seventh in the men's championship final with a time of 52.39. Kibler earned an international team roster spot last night on the 4x200m relay.
On the women's side, Emma Sticklen placed eighth in the women's 100m fly with a time of 58.86 and Olivia Bray tied for 13th in 59.50.
The USA Swimming International Team Trials resume on Friday, April 29 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Friday's action will feature competition in the 400-meter freestyle, 100-meter breaststroke and 100-meter backstroke. Prelims start at 8 a.m. CT with the finals sessions scheduled to get underway each day at 5 p.m. CT. All prelims will stream at usaswimming.com and the finals session will be streamed live on the Olympic Channel.
