Volleyball set to play spring match at Texas State

The Longhorns will get their first action of the year with a new-look roster.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Volleyball will get its first action of the spring season, traveling to Texas State on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at Strahan Arena. Admission is free for Thursday's match in San Marcos.
The Longhorns went 27-2 and advanced to the NCAA Regional Final last season, leading the nation with a school record hitting percentage of .343. They finished ranked in the top-10 for the 16th-consecutive season, the longest streak in the country.
Three-time All-American Logan Eggleston returns for a fifth season, with the extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The two-time Big 12 Player of the Year and 2021 VolleyballMag.com Player of the Year led Texas with 387 kills (3.91/set) while hitting .308.
Fellow First Team All-Big 12 selection Asjia O'Neal also returns after hitting .383 and finishing with 170 kills and 114 total blocks.
The spring roster features a pair of newcomers, Madisen Skinner from Kentucky and Zoe Fleck from UCLA.
Last season, Skinner led the Wildcats with 3.78 kills per set, finished with a .282 hitting percentage and was named All-SEC and Honorable Mention All-American. She finished with 389 kills and her 49 total blocks were the fifth-most on the team.
Fleck helped lead the Bruins to a second-place finish in the Pac-12 and a berth in the NCAA Regional Semifinal. She was named to the AVCA All-America third team after leading UCLA with 463 digs, averaging 3.99 digs per set.
Texas will play two more matches this spring, hosting Baylor on Thursday, April 14 at Gregory Gym at 8 p.m. The match will be broadcast on Longhorn Network. The Longhorns' final spring match will be at TCU on Saturday, April 16 at 4 p.m.
