Longhorns set to compete in USA Basketball 3X Nationals

Matharu, Holle, Harmon and Moore will represent UT in prestigious event
AUSTIN, Texas – Four Longhorns will take the court in May to compete at the 2022 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals, held at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. The event, which runs May 13-15, will feature up to 16 men's and 16 women's teams, vying for national titles.
Senior Aliyah Matharu, junior Shay Holle and sophomores Rori Harmon and Aaliyah Moore with represent Texas in the event. The Longhorns received an invitation to compete based on their Elite 8 finish in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
The 3X Nationals will tip off May 13 with preliminary round games. Teams will be seeded based on preliminary records before entering bracket play. Games will be played on the Hall of Fame's Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams, located in the heart of the museum. The event is open to the public with purchase of admission to the Hall of Fame. The full schedule will be announced at a later date.
The event will serve as the final evaluation of athletes for selection to various 2022 USA Basketball 3x3 men's and women's national teams, including the 2022 FIBA 3x3 World Cup, set for June 21-26 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Played on a half court with a 10-minute clock and a 12-second shot clock, the first team to 21 points, or the team in the lead at the end of regulation, is the winner.
