Men's TF Named National Scholar Team of the Year, Piperi Scholar Athlete of the Year

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas men's track and field program and Tripp Piperi earned USTFCCCA Academic Honors on Wednesday.
The men's program was named both the NCAA Division I Men's Indoor Track and Field National Scholar Team of the Year and the NCAA Division I Men's Outdoor Track and Field Team of the Year after recording a cumulative GPA of 3.112. The team also won the Indoor NCAA Championships and finished as the runner-up during outdoors.
Piperi, fresh off his second NCAA shot put title, was named the NCAA Division I Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year. Piperi maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.868.
The All-American is the first athlete from Texas to be named the National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year during the outdoor season.
