Crouser crowned World Championships Shot Put champion

EUGENE. Ore. - Ryan Crouser was crowned the 2022 World Athletics Championship shot put champion on Sunday night.
The Texas All-American and shot put legen added his first World Championships title to his name in Hayward Field after setting a championships shot put record with a throw of 22.94m on his fifth throw of the series. Crouser's world championship title goes along with his two Olympic gold medals and helped Team USA sweep the shot put event.

Two-time NCAA shot put champion Tripp Piperi finished eighth in his World Championship shout put final debut with a throw of 20.93m. Piperi's season was highlighted by breaking the Texas outdoor shoot put record, winning his second NCAA title during the outdoor season amd making his debut at the World Championships for Team USA.
Rhasidat Adeleke competed in the 400m dash and advanced to Monday's semifinals after posting a time of 51.59 seconds.
Ashtin Zamzow-Mahler was the final Longhorn to compete on day three of the championships and currently sits in 14th-place in the heptathlon. She began the day with a season-best time in the 100m hurdles with her time of 13.47 seconds. She later cleared 1.77m in the high jump and added a throw of 12.99m in the shot put before running the 200m in 25.15 seconds.
