Men's Basketball's Carr’s double-double leads Canada to 89-75 win over Brazil

Senior guard posted 14 points and a game-high 10 assists in opening game of the GLOBL JAM.
TORONTO — University of Texas senior guard Marcus Carr registered 14 points and a game-high 10 assists to lead the Canadian U23 Men's National Team to an 89-75 victory over Brazil on Tuesday night in an opening-round game of the GLOBL JAM at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Carr started for Team Canada and hit 6-of-7 free throws while committing just one turnover and added five rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes. He finished the contest with a plus-minus total of plus-18 on the night.
Carr and Team Canada continue play in the round-robin preliminary round format at the GLOBL JAM with a matchup against Team USA on Wednesday, July 6 at 8 p.m. Central. Team USA is being represented at this event by Baylor University. Italy posted an 88-77 win against Team USA in the other preliminary-round game earlier on Tuesday.
Canada will conclude play in the round-robin preliminary round against Italy on Thursday, July 7 at 8 p.m. Central. All four teams will advance to the semifinal round on Saturday, July 9, followed by the Championship games on Sunday, July 10.
