Men’s Tennis preview: Commodore Invitational

Four Longhorns head to Nashville, Tenn., to compete in tournament play hosted by Vanderbilt.
Austin – Texas Men's Tennis will send four of its members to the Commodore Invitational in Nashville, Tenn., for tournament play from Friday, Sept. 23 through Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Currey Tennis Center.
Those four include juniors No. 98 Siem Woldeab, Evin McDonald and Eshan Talluri, and senior Nevin Arimilli participating across three flights in both singles and doubles. They will compete in a field made up of players from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, South Carolina and host Vanderbilt.
Draws were released Thursday for the opening day that will have one round of doubles followed by one round of singles. In the Doubles Green Draw, Woldeab and Talluri will partner against Walker Stearns and Gordon Whitwell of Ole Miss, while in the Red Draw, Arimilli and McDonald will play Paul Wang and Mitchell Deames of Vanderbilt.
Then in singles, Woldeab will square off against No. 97 Marcus McDaniel of Georgia Tech in Flight A, and the other three Longhorns will all face Commodores. Arimilli is slated against Macsen Sisam in Flight B, while McDonald plays Deames, and Talluri faces Marcus Ferreira in Flight C.
