Men’s Tennis wins two titles at Commodore Invitational

The Longhorns took five of their six matches on Sunday, including a doubles title for Siem Woldeab and Eshan Talluri in the Green Draw, and a singles title for Evin McDonald in Flight C.
Nashville – Texas Men's Tennis won two titles on the final day of the Commodore Invitational at the Currey Tennis Center in Nashville on Sunday. The Longhorns took five of their six matches overall on the day, including a doubles title for juniors Siem Woldeab and Eshan Talluri in the Green Draw, and a singles title for junior Evin McDonald in Flight C.
Woldeab and Talluri downed Nathan Cox and Michael Ross of Vanderbilt, 8-1, for their win, while McDonald defeated Marcus Ferreira of Vanderbilt, 6-2, 6-3. Woldeab had also advanced to the Flight A singles final but fell in three sets to No. 37 Toby Samuel of South Carolina, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Talluri closed with a singles victory in the west bracket of Flight C, 6-2, 6-4, over Micahel Deames of Vanderbilt, as did senior Nevin Arimilli in the Flight B North finals, 6-3, 7-6 (4), over Siim Troost of Vanderbilt. Earlier in the day, Arimilli and McDonald combined to beat Troost and Macsen Sisam, 6-4, in the Red Draw Northeast doubles finals.
The Longhorns will next take the court at the ITA All-American Championships from Oct. 1-9.
