Men's Swim & Dive sweeps Big 12 weekly awards

Nick Harris earns fifth conference award, while Nate Germonprez and Will Modglin earn their first weekly honors.
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas men's swimming and diving team swept the Big 12 Weekly honors during the second week of competition after competing at the 2023 SMU Classic.
Will Modglin was named the Big 12 Swimmer of the Week after making his collegiate debut and set the SMU Classic meet record in the 100-yard back with a time of 45.93. The freshman added a runner-up finish in the 50-yard free with a time of 19.82 seconds and a third-place finish in the 800-yard free at 6:28.38. He later went on to add two, fourth-place finished in the 200 medley relay (1:26.89) and the 200-yard back with a time of 1:44.70.
Nate Germonprez was named the men's Newcomer of the Week after winning the 200 IM in 1:45.27 and winning the B-Final in the 100-yard breast at 53.97.
Sophomore Nick Harris earned his fifth Big 12 conference weekly award and first of the season after sweeping the diving events at SMU. Harris scored 386.00 points on the 3-meter and 370.45 points on the 1-meter to score 32 team points for the Longhorns.
Texas returns to the pool on Oct. 20 to host TCU at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
