Men's Swim and Dive Finish Fourth at SMU Classic

Nate Germonprez, Nick Harris and Will Modglin lead Longhorns with event wins
DALLAS, Texas – The Texas men's swim and dive team of nine student-athletes finished fourth at the 2023 SMU Classic with 270 points.
Sophomore diver Nick Harris swept the competition winning the 1-meter event with 370.45 points and the 3-meter with 386 points. He totaled 32 points for the Longhorns.
Freshman Will Modglin made his collegiate debut in the 100-yard backstroke and set the SMU Classic meet record with his time of 45.93. He later added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard back with a time of 1:44.70 and a runner-up finish in the 50-yard free at 19.82.
Fellow freshman Nate Germonprez won the 200-yard IM with his time of 1:45.27. He added a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard IM at 3:49.70 and won the B-Final in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 53.97.
Luke Hobson was the runner-up in the 200-yard free with his time of 1:35.48, while Alec Enyeart finished fourth in the B-Final at 1:37.71.
Cole Crane added 10 team points in the 100-yard fly with his time of 47.71 and Coby Carrozza scored five with his time of 48.12.
The relay team of Carrozza, Hobson, Enyeart and Modglin finished third in the 800-yard free relay with their time of 6:28.38, scoring 18 team points. Modglin, Will Scholtz, Crane and Carrozza added 16 more points from the 200-yard medley relay after finishing in 1:26.89.
The Longhorns return to the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on October 20 and will host TCU.
