Texas outscores West Virginia 50-29 in first and third quarters of the game.
AUSTIN, Texas — Texas held West Virginia to 26.8 percent shooting and limited an opponent to 59 points or less for the 17th time this season as they picked up a 74-48 victory on Sunday at Moody Center.
Shaylee Gonzales led all scorers with 18 points and Rori Harmon scored 16 and added six points and six rebounds. Khadija Faye posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Deyona Gaston tallied seven points and nine rebounds and Taylor Jones and Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda recorded seven points apiece. Shay Holle posted five points and Amina Muhammad tallied two points and four rebounds.
Texas got out to a 15-2 lead and led 34-23 at halftime. The Longhorns outscored the Mountaineers 40-25 in the second half.
Up next Texas travels to Oklahoma for a game against the Sooners, who are currently tied for first-place in the conference with the Longhorns. That game is Saturday, February 25, at 1:00 p.m. CT in Norman, Okla.
