No. 3 Men’s Swim and Dive sweeps six events on third day of the Big 12 Championships

Carson Foster set the conference and meet record in the 400 IM and five Longhorns won their first career individual conference titles.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 3 Men's Swimming and Diving swept six events on the third day of the Big 12 Conference Championships at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Friday.
Sam Artmann began the finals session by capturing his first career Big 12 title with a win in the 100 fly, swimming a personal-best 46.18 to earn the championship.
Carson Foster followed with his third consecutive win in the 400 IM with a time of 3:35.49 to break his own meet record of 3:37.72 that he set at last year's championship, as well as the conference record of 3:36.37 established by Longhorn great Will Licon in 2015.
Peter Larson won his first career title, placing first in the 200 free with a time of 1:32.95, then Will Chan earned his first Big 12 Championship victory in the 100 breast with a season-best 51.65. Ethan Harder closed out the individual races by winning the 100 back with a season-best 46.39.
The quartet of Daniel Krueger, Larson, Chan and Caspar Corbeau finished the night by winning the 200 free relay in 1:16.88.
The Big 12 Championships conclude on Saturday with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals starting at 5 p.m. Prelim and final sessions will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Texas has won 12 of 13 events through the first three days of competition.
- On Friday, four Longhorns earned their first career Big 12 Conference individual titles: Sam Artmann (100 fly), Peter Larson (200 free), Will Chan (100 breast) and Ethan Harder (100 back).
- The Longhorns claimed the top-two spots in the 100 fly, with Sam Artmann winning in 46.18 and Cole Crane placing second in 46.59
- UT went 1-2-3 in the 400 IM behind Carson Foster (3:35.49), David Johnston (3:40.03) and Jake Foster (3:42.84)
- The Horns also swept the top-three in the 200 free. Peter Larson won it in 1:32.95, Coby Carrozza took second in 1:32.95 and Luke Hobson placed third in 1:33.17.
- In the 100 breast, Will Chan earned gold in 51.65 and Caspar Corbeau bronze in 51.71, while Paul DeGrado placed fifth with a time of 53.72.
- Texas earned a 1-2 finish in the 100 back with season bests from winner Ethan Harder (46.39) and runner-up Charlie Crosby (46.97.
